"If you don't move I'm gonna puke all over your shoes."

"How appealing," Evan replied dryly, tucking his feet up under himself and moving the bucket closer to the bed incase David really did have to throw up. It'd been almost two days like this, though at least David had been able to sleep through most of it.

There were a few hours like this though when David was awake and miserable. Evan sat buy his side and did what he could. Ran a hand through his hair, listened to him grumble and bribed the mess cooks into making a bowl of actual chicken noodle soup which was part of their secret Earth stash.

When David slept, Evan pulled up a chair and did his paperwork from home. He was on call, but Sheppard had already told him that he'd only be called if it was an emergency.

"You don't have to keep doing this," David said softly.

"I want to," Evan replied brushing his hand across his forehead. He didn't feel as hot as he had earlier.

David stared at him for a moment, "You're strange."

"You love me."

David smiled widely, "I do."

Evan leaned down and kissed his brow, "Get some more rest. I'll still be here."

David curled up on his side and drifted off to sleep soon after. Evan remained where he was watching him sleep with a soft, happy smile on his face.

Evan stood in front of the bio tank that held and vitalized his and David's child. Their daughter. He still couldn't believe it, that they'd been blessed with such a miracle. He'd never thought that they would be able to have a family, had given it up in order to be with David. The bio tank's fogged glass didn't give him a very clear view of their daughter but what he did see was absolutely the most beautiful thing in the world.

"Hey," David's voice cut through the silence seconds before his arms slid around Evan's waist. "Thought I'd find you here."

Evan leaned back against David as they watched their daughter. The passage of time didn't affect them. It was their greatest joy, observing her together and everything else around them seemed almost less, compared to it.

"Can you believe there's only four months left before she's born?" David whispered.

"No," Evan replied shaking his head. "There's still so much left to do."

David chuckled, "Yea. But Atlantis has our backs."

Which was true, and they both knew it. They city was excited to have another child within her walls and her patrons even more so. Evan and David had already been receiving gifts for the baby and her room. They both knew the city was going to spoil her.

Megan streaked down the halls of Atlantis, dodged corridors and passed through door as if they had never been closed in the first place. Atlantis was anticipating her movements, opening the doors for her so that she didn't have to slow down because he was already late as it was and she hadn't even changed out of her work clothes.

She dashed into her room, shedding her clothes as she made her way to the bathroom to have a quick shower. She took after her Dad, being a scientist, to bother her parents delight but her brother balanced that by having taken after their Papa and going into the Military.

She'd already laid out her formal wear that morning so the dress was easy to find and slip into. She spent five plus drying out and doing her hair then another few by putting on the barest hint of makeup before leaving and heading to the mess hall.

A wolf whistle greeted her half way , "Megan Parrish-Lorne, late? Has the world ended?"

"Shut up Sheppard," Megan snapped at her brother's sort of boyfriend. Sort of because the two were still dancing around each other despite the amount of times they ended up in compromising positions.

"I'm just saying, you're never late for anything," Daniel, the younger one of the Sheppard-Mitchell twins smirked as he joined her.

Megan rolled her eyes, "As opposed to the fact that you're always late?"

Daniel just replied with a shit eating grin.

The mess hall was decked out for a party that was in full swing. Megan weaved her way through the crowd of personnel who had been here since the beginning, their children, and newbies that came every year, headed for the guests of honor.

Her parents were celebrating their twenty year anniversary, had survived invasions, off world capture, de-aging, aging, metaphysical transformations and a whole variety of other issues that made up the living on Atlantis. Megan had no doubt they could survive another twenty.

"Hey Papa," Megan greeted, hugging him.

"You're late," he returned, smiling. "How was your morning?"

"Progressive," Megan replied, receiving a hug from her Dad as well. "Sorry about losing track of time."

"That's alright. I see you managed to bring Daniel along with you, that'll make your brother happy."

Megan grinned, then suggested they get something to drink. Parties on Atlantis tended to go long and get crazier as the day went on and it was beneficial to have alcohol. She just hoped it was Dr. Zelenka that had provided the drinks.
