John woke late Sunday morning to an empty bed. He frowned at that, trying to process it because he knew Cam had the day off and there really was no reason for him not to still be in bed sleeping. Or doing other things.
After a few minutes in which his brain took the time to wake up some more he registered the faint sound of the TV on. Confused, John got up, slipped into a pair of boxers and headed into the main room.
He didn’t make his presence known immediately because he wasn’t quite sure to make of the...show? playing on Cam’s TV. He knew Cam’s tastes: sci-fi, because he couldn’t get enough of it despite the life he lived, action/adventure, some comedy, mystery and a very tiny bit of drama and romance. John couldn’t tell what category this show fell under. Tall, dark and very handsome was taking off his shirt while short, blond and handsome was giving him some flack over it.
John’s eyes widened as he listened to the blond, not believing his ears. ‘Babe?’
“What’cha watching?” he had to ask, had to know.
Cam’s face turned towards him sharply, eyes startled and john sent him an apologetic look. Cam smiled and motioned for him to join him in lying on the couch.
“Hawaii Five-0.”
John raised an eyebrow. He remembered Hawaii Five-0; Jack Lord and that other guy. “This isn’t Hawaii Five-0.”
Cam chuckled, “It’s a remake. The blond is Danno, the other is Steve.
“They did a gay remake?” While John knew that in the past decade homosexuality had become a lot more widely accept, not in the least bit proven with the repeal of DADT, he couldn’t quite believe they’d gone and remade a classic show with a gay overtone.
Cam laughed outright at that, “They’re not gay John.”
At that John knew Cam was having him on and he gave him an incredulous look, “No? So Danno didn’t just call Steve ‘babe’ and there’s wasn’t some unsubtle eye fucking?”
Cam shook his head, “Not officially they’re not. Nobody’s fooled though and the general consensus is they’re doing it off screen despite the writers giving Steve a sort-of-but-not-really girlfriend.”
John shook his head in wonder but settled down to watch. He figured he’d probably like it since Cam seemed to so much.
“This the only one on?”
“I DVR them and watch when I have the time,” Cam replied. “There’s two more I haven’t seen after this.”
John nodded. It wasn’t a bad way to spend a Sunday with Cam. There were other things they could do, but John knew they could be saved for another day.
“Hawaii Five-0 all you have to watch?”
“Nope. Supernatural is next.”
